This software is not a Windows 95 explorer clone. To create , move , delete files and folders you must use the Windows tool !

You can lauch it on the current managed folder with a click on the Windows explorer button.
You need to click on refresh if you make modifications while the document is open !


Icons when dowloading
The update rules are not symetrics when changing the sens, and icons colors reflect the new situation.

Since 2.8.0 version, reversing the sense of the stream doesn't imply a reverse update. It seems that it is an unuseful feature. Now, downloading means download of the selection in the alternate local folder, with no erasing of its previous contents.

If you need to download some particular files before the main upload, see the import-status of files and folders.

Updating
Connection to the host and execution of all the operations needed to reflect the local folder on the Internet.

Accesible by F7 too.

After the first time setting, it is the unique operation needed to maintain the Web updated permanently.

Remember that there are three types of import :
* normal import by replacing existent local file
* import by appending the remote file to the existing local file
* import by completing the local file, like after a 'restart after interrupt', if the server allows the restart option

and one of export :
* only export by replacing the remote file by the local file

After import, the file may be optionnaly erased.

( version 3.0 allows more complexes operations when using NT servers ).


Warning buttons
This conventional button control update and the sense of update to avoid non wanted operations.

'Danger' means that operations become from the Web to local : only import contents or directory from the Web are allowed.

'End Danger' returns to normal sens : only upload is allowed.

They do not make any Internet call.

Note that icons and background colours change like the update sense.


Downloading the Web directory listing
It is the first operation when setting sites who are not empty. Do not forget to click on 'danger' to access this import button ( red W ).


Downloading the default import folders listing
On a Web collecting data, you will need to import files, as a normal part of an update operation. To avoid a control of the files stamps at each update order, this is done one time on your request.

For command line operations there, if necessary, this is done before the update without any specific order.


Downloading the Web folder contents
NEW since the 2.8.0 version :

After this operation, the ALTERNATE local folder contains all the files of the Internet folder. Previous data is not erased.

It is a very rare operation on personal sites.

Click on 'danger' to access the import button ( red down arrow ).

( Previous versions were making exact reverse operation of upload. This way of update was obsolete and a little dangerous. Let's talk about if you need some special process. )

Erasing the Web folder contents
Be careful. You can get the same result if you tell AblyFTP to upload from an empty local folder.

Normally , the soft is designed to minimize the update and this operation is not useful.
